Cambodia Boarding Academy - Howell
Billy and Natalie Howell, with their younger daughter Alysa, have been serving as missionaries in Cambodia since January 2020. They have been working with the Cambodia Adventist Mission to build a primary school and boarding academy, which are desperate needs for the fledgling Cambodian Adventist Church. They are also helping to train teachers who will work at the academy when it is finished.
Following God’s Call
While sitting in a meeting at a FaithCamp in 2018, Natalie heard the call for missionaries. She encouraged her older daughter Danielle to go. But, the Holy Spirit reminded Natalie that He had impressed her to go to the mission field with her whole family a few years earlier. Not going now could be quite risky. To find out about Natalie’s response to God’s call and how God got her family to the mission field, watch the video on the right.
Community Outreach
Besides preparing to start a school and training teachers, the Howell family has been seeking to help their neighbors. At first, the people would just stare at them, but after the Howells decided to just smile at them and wave hellos to the children, they began to warm up. Before long, they had won the children’s hearts. Children would respond back to them very enthusiastically. Eventually, adults’ hearts were being won. Natalie and her family were able to give blankets, food, and shoes to the local villagers. They have been continuing to develop relationships with them, and they plan to invite the local children to attend the school once it starts.
