Since Jacklin first heard about Jesus as a child, she wanted to go to church. Her Hindu family told her not to go, but she went anyway. Jacklin continued to go to church every Sunday until she became an adult. Because she so stubbornly followed her Christian beliefs, her family allowed her to marry a Christian man. 

Jacklin had one healthy child and was expecting her second when she met Vasanthakumari, a Jesus for Asia Bible Worker. Vasanthakumari prayed with Jacklin for her family and baby. She continued to visit Jacklin frequently, and the two women became friends.

When Jacklin went into labor, she invited Vasanthakumari to come to the hospital to pray with her.

 After the baby was born, the doctors gave her news she never hoped to hear.

“The baby is without movement,” they told her. Jacklin was heartbroken. What will happen to my baby? She wondered.

“Can I see my baby?” Jacklin asked the doctor, with tears in her eyes. 

The nurse handed her the baby, and as she held the small, unmoving body in her arms, she cried out to the Lord, “Please touch my baby.”

Vasanthakumari, who was nearby, comforted Jacklin and offered her own prayer on the baby’s behalf. Then, for a moment, all was silent. 

After a few seconds, the baby started to move, and its little eyes opened to see the world for the first time. Now the baby is happy and healthy, and Jacklin praises Jesus for doing a miracle and restoring her baby to her. 

Psalm 127:3 says, “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.”

What a beautiful blessing for God to restore Jacklin’s precious gift to her and showcase His love for her and her family. Please pray that God will continue to grow Jacklin’s faith and bless her family as they learn more about their Savior.
