A Heart Attack and a Change of Heart

A JFA Bible Worker Story

The following testimony was shared with us by one of our Bible Workers in India:

My name is Elakiya and I come from a Hindu family. I am 18 years old. My Aunty Kannagi is a JFA Bible Worker. She often told me about the Bible, the plan of God and His second coming. I was interested in learning what she was sharing with me about God. Aunty Kannagi invited me to church, but my father did not allow me to go. One day, unexpectedly, my father had a heart attack. He was in a lot of pain. We took him to a private hospital where the administrators asked my family to pay a large amount of money in advance to admit him. My family could not afford the bill so we took him to a government hospital instead.

Once he had been admitted into the hospital, I called Aunty Kannagi to tell her my father’s condition. She encouraged me, telling me to pray and have faith in Jesus. The next day she visited my father in the hospital and shared encouraging words from the Bible with him and prayed for him. After two days my father started to feel better, and after two more days he was discharged and sent home.

While my father was recovering, my Aunti Kannagi came to our home every day and prayed for my family. She gave us Bible studies and helped us understand truths from the Bible. Now my father’s heart has softened, and he is willing to learn about Jesus. He allows me to attend church on Sabbath. He also assured me that he will also come to church very soon.
