The Unknown Caller
Written by Paula Macena
Aruna’s father was in an accident and was admitted to the hospital. The doctor did not seem hopeful about his recovery. Aruna was distraught. She thought back to the random phone call she’d received a few days ago with a strange request.
“Can we pray for you?”
Aruna had been caught off guard. She didn’t recognize the phone number or the voice asking her, “Can we pray for you?” Not knowing what to say, she hung up the phone. Now, full of worry, she called the number back. She apologized to the woman on the other end (who happened to be a JFA Bible Worker) and asked her to pray for her father. The Bible Worker, on the other end, consoled her, told her to have faith in Jesus, and prayed for her.
Aruna invited the kind stranger to meet her father and pray over him. They began to pray for her regularly. Aruna’s father’s health is improving continuously. She has taken Bible studies and thanks God daily for her father’s miraculous recovery.
Please pray for Aruna and Her family to continually grow closer to Jesus and fully accept Him as their Savior.
God Answers Prayers of Pregnant Mother
Victoria felt a pain in her stomach. She was used to stomach pains due to her pregnancy, but this one felt different. She went to consult the doctor, who informed her that the umbilical cord had wrapped around the neck of her unborn child and she needed an emergency operation; otherwise, the baby would not survive. Victoria went home worried, unsure of what would happen.
Around this time, she met some JFA Bible Workers. She told them about her situation and how she had once been a believer in Jesus. She hadn’t been to church in many years, but she gladly accepted their prayers. Every day, they came to her home, put their hands on her stomach, and prayed. A week later, Victoria had strong stomach pains again and was rushed to the hospital. But this time, when the doctor checked up on her, he reassured Victoria–the baby would be delivered normally.
In the end, Victoria gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and she thanks God for him every day. She also thanks God for the Bible Workers who prayed for her and taught her about Jesus.
Is Jesus Listening?
Keerthana didn’t know if Jesus was listening. She kneeled in her room and prayed, not entirely sure who she was praying to. Keerthana had heard about Jesus, but she did not know why He died on the cross. Still, she wanted to try. With the problems currently in her life, she needed to try.
Keerthana’s family was struggling to make ends meet financially because her husband was the sole breadwinner in the family, and he spent his money on alcohol. She needed someone to listen. One day, she met a JFA Bible Worker named Jayaselvi, who asked if she could pray for Keerthana. Keerthana poured out all her problems about her husband’s condition and his behaviors.
Jayaselvi consoled her with the words of God from the Bible and taught Keerthana how to pray. Now knowing more about Jesus, Keerthana prayed fervently for her husband, and Jayaselvi began to visit more often with other women who all prayed for Keerthana and her family. Over time, Keerthana began to see changes in her husband. He drank less and provided more for the family. Today, she continues Bible studies with Jayaselvi and other Bible Workers.
Please pray for Jayaselvi and her family to fully give their lives to Jesus.
We praise God for how He continually uses JFA Bible Workers to reach out to people in their time of need and encourage them to trust in the Living God who loves them and can answer their prayers.
Please join us in prayer for each of our Bible Workers as they serve God and their people daily.
