Please Pray: Serious Accident in the Mission Field
A week ago Thursday, we received a report that Jason Sharon, one of our missionaries in Thailand, had been in a serious accident.
Jason had been helping his neighbors till their rice fields, which are located on a steep mountainside. He was trying to move the tiller from one rice field to another when the tiller's engine suddenly got stuck in the mud. This sent the back end, and Jason, flying into the air, and he landed on the tiller's upended tines. He was cut in two places.
To repair these issues, Jason needs another surgery, but before they can do it, he needs six pints of A- or O- blood, blood-types Thai people don't have. Jason's family and friends in Thailand have been trying to reach out to other missionaries and nearby expats to find a donor.
Jason, with his wife Shoshana and two young children. recently moved to a new mission location, a few hours away from Jason's parent's, Leroy and Lisa Sharon, also missionaries. They are dedicated to serving the Karen people and sharing Jesus' love with them. Click here to watch their testimony which we received just last week.
God has already shown his love and protection by keeping Jason from colon damage, and we pray the Great Physician will continue His healing work in Jason's life. Please join us in praying for Jason's health, his family, and his ministry in Thailand.
For those of you who have heard about Jason's situation already, thank you for your prayers and support! They have been so encouraging to Jason and Shoshana during this time. "You can only begin to imagine," they shared.
Update on Jason Sharon's Accident
In our last email, we shared with you that Jason Sharon, one of our missionaries in Thailand, had been in a serious accident and needed not one, but two emergency surgeries to repair the damages he sustained.
Watch the video above to hear Jason and his wife Shoshana tell their story and testimony of how God used them to share His love with others, even during this difficult situation.
Jason was able to have his second surgery on July 10, and was discharged from the hospital on the following Wednesday. As of our most recent report, he is feeling much better and is recovering at the home of missionaries in Chiang Mai.
The hospital bills have so far been less than expected. Thanks to God and generous donors, they have been more than covered.
We are praying that after the final bill is set, enough funds will be left over to buy the truck they have been renting to help the villagers near their home. The truck costs around $7,000.
Thank you to all of you who have prayed and supported Jason and Shoshana throughout this process! They are overjoyed at the amount of love that has been shared with them. Please continue to keep Jason’s recovery and ministry in your prayers.
