The Mystery Scan

A Bible Worker Story

Kingston’s testimony was sent to us by one of our Bible Workers in South India:

My name is Kingston and I live in India. My family is Seventh-day Adventist. Life for our family was fairly predictable up until the year 2020. I had no idea how much would change, nor how God would use these changes to perform a mighty miracle in my life.

Covid hit us very hard here in India. Besides the sick, we had hundreds lacking life’s basic needs such as food. Because of this, our local pastor began a prayer group with the JFA Bible Workers. The prayer group prayed for many, many requests each day. The prayer meetings were held via Zoom, since no in-person gatherings were allowed.

During this time I came down with a terrible sickness in my stomach. The pain was so great that I had to be taken to the hospital. The doctor requested a scan of my stomach. Two images were taken. Both showed I had some serious internal issues going on.

My prognosis was poor. The doctor recommended I have surgery immediately. Outwardly calm, I followed the additional suggestions he gave, but inside I was panicking.

“Lord, where will I get money for a costly surgery like that? What will I do?” I cried. Shortly afterwards, I shared my problem with the JFA Bible Workers and they said, “Don’t worry, Kingston. Let us take this to the Lord in prayer.” My name was added to their prayer list and that week they fasted and prayed for me. Soon I began to feel better.

Two weeks later, I returned to the doctor. He took one more scan. I held my breath, wondering what he would find. After looking at the scan, he shook his head. “Your scan is completely clear. I don’t understand. What have you been doing these past two weeks?” he asked. “My church has fasted and prayed,” I responded, “and God has worked a miracle!” My heart was full of happiness. “Lord,” I said, “Thank you for your wonderful love! Thank you for sending the JFA Bible Workers to pray for me!”
